Writing a good job description
Everybody wants to hire the perfect pharmacy candidate. But how do you attract good candidates? It starts with great job descriptions. At some point, a job seeker is going to read your job description and decide if it is worth applying for your opportunity. The job description should act as a marketing tool and should be well thought out and well written. Below are a few tips when listing your opportunity on RxCareerCenter.

1. Use creative job titles. RxCareerCenter has many listings for Staff Pharmacists and Certified Pharmacy Technicians that do not stand out from the crowd of available jobs. Try adding a creative job title that will attract attention. If you are recruiting for a position that provides a sign on bonus, try this: "$10,000 sign on bonus offered to Pharmacists in Sunny San Diego." Your jobs appear amongst a long list of jobs and any way to make your open position stand out will help you attract more attention.
2. Talk about the position details. Be specific. Tell candidates what computer system they will be using, the total compensation, sign on bonuses and benefits. Be specific about the location. Mention who the applicant will be working with. Get some assistance from your marketing department. Think about why you would like the position and communicate that back to the candidate.
3. Sell the opportunity and the company. Why is this opportunity and company better than all the others? Every company and opportunity is different and you need to point out the pluses of both. Tell candidates how they can grow within the company and give specific examples of what makes your position the best choice for the job seeker. Tell the candidate success stories of other employees within your company.

With the increasing number of pharmacy opportunities available every day and the competition to recruit pharmacy specific candidates, these few tips should get your recruiting off to a strong start.
